Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
WE DRIVER is a service of APERSON SERVICES PTY LTD, 36 McAndrew Crescent, Mangerton NSW 2500, Australia. In this policy, “we” and “WE DRIVER” mean that company. Questions about privacy go to admin@wedriver.com.au.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What we collect
We only collect what a request needs. What that is depends on which form you use.
- Vehicle request — name, email, phone, preferred contact method, state or region, budget range, timeframe, intended use, weekly distance, and any trade-in details you provide about a vehicle you already own.
- Home charger installation — contact details, property address or suburb, property type and ownership status, switchboard and meter details, and your charger preference.
- Electricity plan concierge — contact details, state, household electricity usage, solar details, driving distance, charging window, and the plan you selected in the simulator, together with the simulation inputs behind it.
- AI Vehicle Check and listings — photographs of a vehicle you upload, odometer and registration details visible in those photographs, vehicle specifications, asking price, and your contact details if you publish a listing.
- Marketplace enquiries — your name, contact details, any offer amount, and any message you send to a seller.
- Server logs — our hosting provider records IP address, browser type and request time as part of normal operation.
We do not ask for government identifiers, financial account numbers or health information through this site. Please do not send them to us.
3. Why we collect it and what we do with it
We use personal information to identify and present vehicle or service options, to obtain quotes on your behalf, to pass an introduction to a third party you asked us to contact, to generate an automated condition and value estimate from photographs you upload, to operate a listing and relay enquiries between a buyer and a seller, and to respond to you.
If you do not provide the information a form asks for, we may not be able to complete that request.
4. Who we disclose it to
We disclose personal information only to the parties needed to do what you asked, and only the information those parties need.
- Licensed electricians — property and installation details, so they can prepare a quote, when you submit an installation request.
- Energy retailers — the details needed to open or transfer an account, when you ask us to arrange a plan.
- Dealers, sellers and buyers — the details needed to progress a specific vehicle you asked about. In marketplace enquiries, we relay messages: a seller’s contact details are not published, and a buyer’s contact details go only to the seller of the vehicle they enquired about.
- Service providers who operate this site — our database and file storage host, our web host, our email delivery provider and our SMS delivery provider. They process information on our instructions.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not supply it to advertisers or data brokers.
5. Commissions and how we are paid
Some third parties pay us a referral fee or commission when a customer we introduce takes up a service. Where that applies, it is disclosed on the relevant page.
Payment does not determine what we show you. Comparison tables and plan rankings on this site are ordered on the stated criteria, not on what we are paid. Where we hold no commercial arrangement with a listed provider, the page says so.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of the service providers described in section 4 store or process data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. By using this site you acknowledge that your information may be handled overseas by those providers under our instructions.
7. Security and retention
Submitted records are held in a hosted database with row-level access controls: the public website can write a request but cannot read requests back, and staff access requires an authenticated login. Photographs published to a listing are, by design, publicly viewable.
We keep records for as long as needed for the purpose collected and for any period the law requires, then delete or de-identify them. If you ask us to delete your record and no legal obligation requires us to keep it, we will.
8. Cookies and analytics
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. The AI Vehicle Check keeps your in-progress session in your own browser’s session storage so a refresh does not lose your work; that data stays on your device and is cleared when you close the tab. Our host keeps standard server logs. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and referrers: it is cookieless, it does not follow you across other websites, and it does not build a profile of you.
9. Marketing
We contact you about the request you submitted. We only send marketing messages if you have asked for them, and every such message includes an unsubscribe or reply-STOP path.
10. Access, correction and complaints
You may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing admin@wedriver.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period and will tell you if we need to verify your identity first.
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, tell us first at the same address and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always at this address, with the date it took effect at the top.
